2045. What future awaits us? This is the year that marks the frontier of our unawareness. "The idea behind singularity is that, in 2045, the quantity of changes will be so huge that someone who tries to forecast beyond that time will probably not be right".
This is the starting point of the fifth episode of the documentary series Inspirando o Futuro – SingularityU Portugal. David Roberts, one of the word greatest specialists in technology and disruption, has done a bit of everything: he was a bank investor, is a computing engineer, master in in Artificial Intelligence, and chairman of Quantum Computing 1QBit, having built the first object in a 3D printer for the International Space Station.
Roberts’ work is currently focused – and he is looking for investors – in drones as a way to revolutionise human transport. It is some kind of return to childhood: when he was a kid he built a prototype of a hovercraft to take his sister to the bus stop.
