Companies closer to the future

Flow has just launched the first sustainable mobility management system geared to companies and cities, aimed at providing better mobility, a cleaner environment and savings

Electric mobility, sharing, integrated management. This is the universe of Flow, a technology company that has just launched the first sustainable mobility management system geared to companies and organisations planning to implement mobility programmes. The aim? To reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

“Sustainable mobility is not just the right thing to do. It's also a smart business decision”, declares Jane Hoffer, Flow's CEO. “The real power of sustainable mobility lies in harnessing the power of transport for the benefit of the organisation, be it a company, an institution such as a university, or a city”.

The new system is based on technology that coordinates mobile assets and users to provide real-time data on the use of vehicles, scooters, charging stations and other components of the mobility ecosystem. A solution based on an IoT data hub installed in vehicles, scooters and electric bicycles, enabling you to adjust decisions and optimise business.

As far as Jane Hoffer is concerned, sustainable mobility is, beyond the obvious, "a smart business decision"

Supplied in real time, the impact of this data on companies will be significant, enabling decision makers to incorporate mobility patterns – including vehicles, charging stations, energy suppliers, users and even micro-mobility initiatives and public transport systems – in accordance with the organisation's needs.

Through the management of sustainable mobility resources powered by Flow's SMM platform, organisations can thereby reduce their overall mobility costs, improve the experience of customers and employees and decarbonise their mobility footprint. At the same time, the initiative entails responding to the growing concerns of innovative companies and organisations all over the world: investment in sustainability, the provision of electric vehicle charging stations, advanced fleet monitoring, and vehicle sharing services in companies and cities.

Portugal has already registered a number of success stories associated with Flow´s portfolio, such as MobiCascais, a mobile application designed to facilitate the integrated management of mobility systems by users, covering both urban transport systems and shared bicycles, car parks and electric vehicle charging points. “We want to address current problems and find solutions to the technological reality in existence today”, says André Dias, the CTO and founder of Flow.

Boasting recently opened offices at the Galp refinery in Matosinhos, Flow intends to reach the global market in cities, allocating 40% of its financial effort to projects and businesses associated with a low or even zero carbon economy. Galp's ambition is to turn the platform into an operating system for urban mobility on a global level.

“The most unique and valuable aspect of the Flow platform is the integrated management of both energy and mobility in a single service”, states James Carter, a consultant at Vision Mobility, an entity specialising in the areas of mobility, transport and automobiles. “This ensures a fully integrated approach, meaning that companies can make decisions in a single place instead of having to confer and cross-check data from multiple systems”.
