
Last May 19, Galp Marketing International (GMI) launched an innovative service based on WhatsApp Business - Galp COVID-19. Developed in partnership with Visor.ai, this service aims to provide people with accurate and updated information related to the disease, thus expanding the national response of the health systems of each country, and the response of Galp.
By using official and updated information sources such as the World Health Organization, together with updates of local news and information on number of cases, prevention, symptoms, treatment and Galp action in each country, Galp COVID-19 helps to combat misinformation and cancel behaviors that can increase the transmission of the disease.
Galp COVID-19 is a free service available 24/7 (self-service) in Portuguese and English, which will be available to all GMI employees, in the five countries where it is present (Angola, Cape Verde, Eswatini, Guinea-Bissau and Mozambique), for a period of up to two months.
At the end of this period, GMI will assess users' adherence and satisfaction with this type of service and evaluate the use of other similar services. It should be noted that WhatsApp is one of the most used chat apps in Africa, thus positioning itself as a powerful communication channel in contact with customers.
