Decarbonising mobility and the environment

WYZE Mobility is the latest shared mobility player in Lisbon. A Portuguese company geared to facilitating travel in the city by contributing to the decarbonisation of mobility and the environment

Headed by Tiago Silva Pereira, WYZE Mobility officially began operations on 01 July this year, when the first electric scooters arrived on the streets of the capital. Just like other brands already present in the city (eCooltra and ACCIONA), WYZE Mobility is also dedicated to shared mobility, or in other words, they rent out motorcycles through a mobile phone app. The model is similar: the application is downloaded, it searches for the nearest motorcycle, checks that the destination is within the area of coverage and the life of the battery (40 to 45 km), and the journey begins, which is paid for by the minute (0,25 €/min).

THE ENVIRONMENT IN FIRST PLACE

Despite being the third-biggest operator, and facing international competition, the company has amassed 3,000 users in the first three months, but Tiago doesn´t want people to join just because it´s convenient, but because shared mobility is better for the environment. “I believe that decarbonisation is increasingly unavoidable. Having means of transport and mobility solutions that don´t emit CO2”. That´s why WYZE allows you to rent motorcycles by the day and week and has participated in events such as European Mobility Week. Moreover, the AYR technology enables users to measure the CO2 saved by riding the scooters. Savings that generate credits, which can be exchanged for minutes and, later in the year perhaps, for a plate of feijoada or slice of cake sold at the coworking restaurant WYZE has opened at its headquarters in Rua das Janelas Verdes.
